Shelia Lee has designed and delivered thousands of Master Accordion Workshops across the US and has made them available here for you. All levels - the beginner, intermediate, and advanced accordionist will benefit from ALL the Workshops.
These were most recently taught on board the Accordion Cruise in January 2008 and at the 2008 National Accordion Association Convention.

Workshop - "You Already Know It All" (#1)

Scales are the basis for most improvisation theory. You already can name ALL the scales and the sharps and flats in each – This will be proven to you!
No matter how experienced of a performer you are, you are NOT practicing your scales, drills, and arpeggios ENOUGH. This workshop will motivate you to LEARN the theory behind your scales and use this knowledge as a stepping stone toward improvisation. A quick review of the theory behind scales, arpeggios, and circle of fifths.

Workshop - "Keep it SIMPLE (KISS) (#2)

Using your knowledge of Major/Minor Scales for self-accompaniment.
This workshop is designed to encourage the beginner to advanced performer to “break away” from the written music. You will use your knowledge of your major scales to add up to 42 different chord structures to your Right AND LEFT hand. Also - an introduction to HOW to decide WHAT TO ADD and other simple rhythmic right and left hand styles.
Introduction to playing along with a pre-recorded musical accompaniment.

Using your knowledge of Major Scales & Arpeggios for clean confident technique.
Confidence is what we all NEED. This comes with practice and experience. Adult students have fewer stimuli to be “coaxed or praised” to success. This workshop is designed to MOTIVATE all levels of performers to be comfortable performing in public and “NOT TOO SCARED” to be brave enough to “step out” and try that “jazz riff into the bridge”; to try that fancy arpeggio ending; to grab 2 additional notes for that chord; to deliver a clean fast chromatic intro – in both hands – UNISON!!!!!
